The Black Country Learning and Skills Council (LSC) is a Government body that
aims to support the regeneration of Walsall and the Black Country by developing
the skills in both adults and young people that are needed for social and economic
transformation.

By working with employers, schools, and training providers, the Black Country LSC is making education and training relevant to local needs – including provision
for vocational training and specialist skills areas. The Black Country LSC also aims to raise the levels of literacy and numeracy and to support lifelong
learning.
Between 2005/2006 the Black Country Learning and Skills Council is spending over £200 million on supporting local people to gain new skills
and helping employers to develop their workforce to ensure a successful future
for the Black Country.
