Reg Vardy is one of the UK’s largest car dealerships, with over 100 outlets around
the UK. Part of the giant motor dealership franchise operator the Pendragon Group,
it has been selling cars to this busy corner of the Midlands for eight years.
One of the firm’s larger dealerships, the Walsall branch employs 60 people and
sells an average of 12000 used and 1300 new cars per year, principally to retail
customers. It is a Ford specialist and the manufacturer originally identified
Walsall, close to one of the busiest stretches of motorway in Europe, as a suitable
locale for a dealership. Its proximity to the M6 drives footfall to the dealership.
Gavin Watson, Dealer Principal of the Walsall branch, says the city is a dynamic
and up-and-coming area ideal for expanding businesses. “Business is brisk. Walsall is a key hub for the West Midlands, with thousands
of commuters driving into the town every day for work, and thousands more passing
every day on the M6. In such an environment, people need vehicles, and we are
on hand to meet that demand."
