The Government Office for the West Midlands (GOWM), co-ordinates the delivery
of Government policy and works to address the challenges facing the region.
This involves implementing government policy and initiatives across ten government
departments including public health, the economy, planning and the environment.
The Government Office for the West Midlands is also responsible for co-ordinating
a number of regional activities aimed at Children and Young People including the
Connexions and Sure Start programmes.
