The Support into Jobs events arranged by Walsall Coucil aim to promote employment
opportunities, the skills and personal qualities required for these jobs and the
range of support available locally to assist local people, particularly those
who are long term unemployment.
The events raise the awareness and aspirations of local people to consider the
range of services and support available to help them make positive steps into
taking up employment in the future.
A series of these events have been planned to promote the range of services available
from the local authority, partner organisations and other public and private sector
employers to advertise any forthcoming job vacancies. The events also place an
importance on offering re-training and support to those who are at risk or have
been made redundant so that they can quickly re-enter the labour market along
with advice on CVs, interview skills, benefits, childcare and training opportunities.
Most events will run in local venues between 10am to 4pm
The next Support into Jobs event will be held on 19th May 2010 – At St Peters Church, St Peters Court, Off Harrison Street, Bloxwich, Walsall, WS3 3HH
