Application Criteria
· Are you looking to relocate within the Walsall area but can't afford
the costs?
· Would up to £5000 help? Based on 50% reimbursement of what you spend
· Your business must be relocating within the Walsall Borough
If you answered yes, you may be eligible to apply for the Walsall Relocation Grant.
Who can Apply?
Any business relocating into the Walsall area* (*usual criteria applies)
What can I claim for?
Any purchases made directly on the business once your grant application has been
approved:
1. Eligible items include:
(a) Consultancy fees
(b) Moving costs
(c) Marketing costs
2. Ineligible costs include:
(a) Value Added Tax
(b) Stock
(c) Petrol
(d) Salaries
(e) any costs not detailed in the application without prior written
approval from the Project Team
Next Steps - For an application to be processed you must complete the following three documents
(please click the link to open them) and clearly state how you propose to spend
the grant once approved
1. Application form - Relocation Grant Application Form
2. Business plan - Business Plan (example template or submit your own)
3. Cash Flow forecast - Cashflow Chart (example template or submit your own)
In your application the assessment panel will be looking for you to clearly demonstrate
- How your company is planning to employ new and/or retain staff as a result of the grant
· A company relocating will be at risk of job losses or would not be able
to expand their operational activities without the grant funding
· The impact of the grant will directly benefit the Walsall Borough economic
area through the employment of Walsall people or moving into Walsall based premises
· Your business must be relocating within the Walsall Borough
All decisions on financial assistance and amounts offered are at the sole discretion
of the panel set up by Walsall Council and Partnership to consider applications.
How to Apply
If you feel you fit the eligibility criteria and would like to apply for the
Relocation Grant please complete all three required documents (the Relocation
Grant application form, business plan and cash flow chart) and return using one
of the following methods.

Other info:
A formal application will be required and all applications will follow a common
appraisal and project management process. The formal application will be assessed
with regard to its business development potential, employment growth and sustainability.
Specifically the project team will assess the market/business need, and impact
e.g. sales and jobs.
The Walsall Business Start Up Grant is part of the Solutions for Business portfolio,
through the Walsall Strategic Partnership. Solutions for Business (SfB) is a suite
of publicly funded business support products and services designed to help businesses
start, grow and succeed.
What will happen next
Once your three application documents have been submitted it will go through
an initial assessment by the project team and you will be informed by email or
telephone if you have been successful, unsuccessful or needs further development/
additional information. If you need more help we can provide you with additional
support from our partners in the Walsall area. If the application is then ready
it will go to a panel for decision. You will be informed of the decision in writing.
Payment of the claim will be on submission of receipts or approved evidence of
spend of which 50% will be paid to you up to the value of £5000
