By working with employers, schools, and training providers, the Black Country LSC is making education and training relevant to local needs – including provision for vocational training and specialist skills areas. The Black Country LSC also aims to raise the levels of literacy and numeracy and to support lifelong learning.

Between 2005/2006 the Black Country Learning and Skills Council is spending over £200 million on supporting local people to gain new skills and helping employers to develop their workforce to ensure a successful future for the Black Country.
