Walsall Council is currently preparing its local economic assessment.  It is a statutory obligation to do so, and the document is expected to be complete by April 2011.

The primary purpose of the document will be to provide the Council and partners with a robust analysis of local economic conditions, reflecting local circumstances.  This analysis will in turn inform policies and interventions.

In order to make the assessment as effective as possible, the Council wishes to include input from a wide range of relevant bodies, organisations and businesses at an early stage.

Please could you take the time to tell us, briefly:

1.                  What are the key economic challenges that impact on the success of your business?
2.                  What are the key opportunities for growth for your business in the next decade?
3.                  What obstacles are there to your business to capitalising on those opportunities?

Your answers will help set the priorities in the local economic assessment.

There will be a further opportunity to comment on draft documentation at the end of the year, with publication expected in spring 2011.
