Walsall Council is committed to creating competitive and vibrant centres for
those people who live, work and visit the borough and it has pledged to support
its key district centres in order to help communications with existing and new
businesses.
Aldridge, Bloxwich, Brownhills, Darlaston and Willenhall partnerships are all made up of retailers, businesses, Local Neighbourhood Partnership,
Walsall Council officers, West Midlands Police, local Councillors and Community
Action Groups representing each area. These are open meetings and anyone with
a real interest in each of the Districts may attend.
The District Centres team supports the management and development of the district
centre partnerships. The role predominately focuses on developing a town centre
management style approach in each centre. These Partnerships act as key contacts
in the redevelopment and regeneration of the districts and support the sustainability
of each District.
Each Partnership is currently developing individual action plans to incorporate
initiatives that may include transport proposals, environmental improvements,
crime reduction projects, promotions and marketing and events.
Each group contributes to sustaining the retail economy and focuses on ensuring
that the businesses, people and visitors in the Districts enter a safe, vibrant
and friendly place.
